Jon Stewart v Bill Bennett

jon stewart v. bill bennett

I watched this on the Daily Show and I thought that Jon Stewart did really well to counter the argument of well known ultra-conservative pundit, Bill Bennett. I especially liked his refutal of the slippery slope argument used by Bennett.

On the whole, an interesting debate about the gay marriage issue.

I watched this episode, and Jon Stewart did a good job. However, sadly he doesn't always confront his guests such a way.

Check this one out!

I watched that video of Orielly and Letterman.

Although Letterman tried to bash Orielly, he didn't do a very good job.

He doesn't seem to be too knowledgeable or intelligent of a debater.

Letterman conceded most of the points or argued the wrong things rather than attack the true flaws in Orielly's arguments.

One of the reasons David Letterman most probably not attacked furiously is that his show is not meant to invite guests and debate intellectually. Letterman and Leno's shows try to provide entertainment through comedy rather than intellectual debate (however comically). On the other hand, Jon Stewart became popular because he has a political view and he tries to debate (softly) with few jokes thrown here and there.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Ann Coulter invited to his show and let her promote her book in coming days.
Jon Stewart will let her pass, as he did Bill Orielly on his show.
